Brian Baxter’s paintings are collected and exhibited widely. Around seven hundred of his works are held in private collections throughout Europe, North America and Australia. They form part of the permanent collection of the House of Lords (see the Art UK’ website for image) and those of Grampian Health Board and Watson and Philip plc. His work has been shown at the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour.
Particularly highly regarded for his watercolours, he also enjoys working in mixed media, pastels, gouache, acrylics and oils. He is well known for his paintings of wildlife and domestic animals, flowers, landscapes and portraits. Brian is Scottish by birth and a graduate of Oxford University where he received his doctorate in philosophy. He is an award-winning author on environmental philosophy and was an academic at Dundee University for over 30 years.
