Elizabeth McCrindle was born and still lives in rural Ayrshire. She has been painting full-time since 1996 after 20 years in the textile industry. She is inspired by the ever-changing countryside and its inhabitants, and her love of the countryside features strongly in her paintings: big skies, sweeping fields of corn, the way the light hits a corner of wild flowers. Animals, horses, dogs, cattle and sheep, all with their own personalities, have found their way to her easel.
She works in oils, pastels, acrylics and mixed media. She has exhibited widely in Scotland, has undertaken commissions and her paintings are in private collections throughout the world.
