Born in Wick, Caithness, Frank lived in London before settling in Alloway in 1975. He worked originally as a design-draughtsman while studying art at Camberwell and has worked as a professional artist since 1981. Frank’s work is now featured in several galleries throughout Scotland, and England. The South Ayrshire Council have many of Frank’s watercolours in their collection, and the major Scottish societies RSW, RGI, RSA have all exhibited works on many occasions.

All Frank’s early works were in watercolour, but over the past few years he has worked in acrylic and oils. His inspiration for his work stems from his admiration of the Scottish colourist movement, and this is reflected in his work which now consists mainly of views of the West coast of Scotland and colourful still life studies.
