Gillian obtained her DA in Drawing & Painting from Glasgow School of Art. Living in mid-Argyll, she has been a full-time artist since the early 1980s. Her paintings are inspired by the surrounding landscapes and seascapes of the west coast of Scotland.
Her vigorous style and evident enjoyment of colour have produced wonderful still life paintings combining flowers, textiles and decorative objects in her chosen medium of gouache. This she handles in a fluid and spontaneous manner, with her capture of light and colour exemplified in her flower subjects, attractive depictions of the landscape in Scotland and further afield, and her studies of livestock on the farm.
Gillian’s paintings are much in demand and are held in private collections throughout the UK and abroad. She has a body of work on permanent display in the Palace of Westminster.
