Helen Welsh

Helen lives in rural Coupar Angus surrounded by the beautiful Perthshire landscape, and gets great pleasure from the everyday things in the Scottish countryside. With her paintbrush she tries to capture the light and movement of the varied subjects she encounters, whether it be an unsuspecting deer or hedgerow flowers floating on the breeze.

In 1973 she moved to Tayside from her native Aberdeenshire home, where she lived on the family farm, to start her career in illustration. She worked full time as an illustrator until 2010 and is now working freelance.

Helen has successfully been exhibiting her artwork in various galleries throughout Scotland since 1987, selling to both home and abroad.
