Ian Bashford

Ian is a graduate of Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen, where he specialised in woven textile design and graphic design. He gained an R.S.A.D. Travel Bursary to Switzerland and Italy. After a post-graduate year at Leeds University, studying industrial textile design and manufacture, he returned to Aberdeen for teacher training at Aberdeen College of Education. He was Assistant Principal Teacher of Art at Ellon Academy but is now retired from teaching.

Over the last twenty years, as well as teaching, he has worked free-lance in computer graphics and industrial screen printing mainly for the oil industry. Ian works predominantly in watercolour and acrylic, and is strongly influenced by the coast and landscape of North-east Scotland, especially the fishing industry.
