Kate Henderson gained a BA (Hons) in Applied Arts, specialising in Stained Glass, at Edinburgh College of Art (1992). She has taught in Scotland and Lithuania on a number of different projects.
Her glass commissions reflect her growing reputation, highlights include the Patrick Geddes Memorial Panel for Edinburgh City Council headquarters and two windows for the Dunbeath Heritage Centre opened in 2009.
Many of her paintings are based on Historic Architecture, and she loves the way light falls around the building. Her works are not representational but contain the essence of place, strengthened by an intuitive use of colour. Recently she has begun to draw into the acrylic paint with graphite, defining, yet adding depth and texture, to her painting.
