Kate first became interested in painting and jewellery making as a teenager, living in Aberdeen. When she moved to England, in her twenties, painting took over from jewellery making for a while. She has exhibited paintings at the Royal West of England Academy in Bristol and various galleries throughout the south west of England. She moved back to Scotland eight years ago and now lives just outside Pitlochry.
Kate likes working in acrylic, pastel and mixed media. As a keen photographer she gets great pleasure from exploring the Highland landscape, using her camera to help capture her animal subjects. Kate enjoys painting “en plein air“ when she can and she is also interested in “abstraction “.
