Kathy lives and works in the Scottish Highlands. She receives her visual inspiration from the drama of the surrounding countryside which she interprets using bold brush strokes and an exciting palette of colours. Taking inspiration from the Scottish colourists Kathy has tried to emulate their strong composition and brushwork, and to introduce their sensitive reverence for nature into her own work.
Kathy works in a variety of media, watercolour, ink, acrylic, oils and charcoal, and in a variety of sizes, from very tiny paintings to very large works. While continuing to refine her skills, balancing colours and depicting a sense of light and beauty of Highlands, Kathy takes pleasure in creating unique works of art reflecting the landscape of Scotland as she sees it.
