Malize studied painting with the Open College of Art and then took a Masters degree at Edinburgh School of Art. She is primarily a landscape painter in oil and watercolour. Malize loves wild remote places, and the wide open spaces of northern regions, especially of west Scotland and its islands, which are the main focus of her work. She is interested in geology, often basing her work, especially her abstract monoprints, on graphite rubbings of the local rock.
She has exhibited in many solo and group shows in the United Kingdom, and also internationally, in Japan, Denmark and Greenland.
