Margaret Evans

Margaret is internationally known for her pastel painting, teaching and writing. She also paints in oils, acrylic and watercolour for bold, colourful sketching diaries of her travels. She typically uses gouache to work in with her pastels. Her first love was oil painting, which she studied and graduated in, from Glasgow School of Art. She promotes and endorses pastels as a serious & worthy medium, as they can be used in dry or wet techniques.

Through teaching and travelling worldwide, her work has become bolder in tone and colour, painting plein-air whenever possible, inspired by many artists she has met along the way. Respected tutor and author of many art books and publications, she tutors worldwide, and can be seen in art programmes. She paints landscapes, still life, flowers, specialises in portrait and animal commissions, as well as golf art.
