'In Stillness'

Aberfeldy-based artist Lindsay attended Edinburgh College of Art from 1994 to 1998 and graduated with BA (Hons) in Drawing and Painting (First Class). She then completed a Master of Fine Arts in Painting (1998-2000). She has recently been Artist in Residence for the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.

Her work shows a pre-occupation with the repetitions, rhythms and cycles within the natural world. Her paintings often give solidity and a sense of permanence to fleeting moments and to the subtleties of nature that are frequently overlooked. Her work is simultaneously intimate and monumental.

'In Stillness' is a collection of 22 new still life paintings. In Lindsay's own words:

"The paintings in this new body of work take a contemplative look at a variety of objects, the stories they hold and the memories they represent. Some are borrowed, some bought, some found and some grown. But as always, it’s the play of light on these objects that hold as much interest and importance as the arrangements and compositions."
